Are you saving in bitcoin yet? If not, the first calculator is for you.
Once you graduate from dollar cost averaging into Bitcoin, you’ll probably want some for retirement. Use the 2nd calculator to play with your potential IRA allocation to bitcoin.
The 3rd calculator is so you can start to plan your bitcoin income in retirement using a special bitcoin withdrawal calculator. Have fun!
Dollar Cost Averaging Bitcoin
This is a great calculator for “legging” into Bitcoin. You don’t have to jump in whole hog. Start DCA’ing with what you can each week or month. This site will take you to Etoro but I recommend either Swan or River for your DCA setup. Both are Bitcoin only companies. No won’t find any crypto distractions or casinos. (If you use the referral link to set up your DCA, we’ll both earn a small bitcoin reward. Let me know if you do so I can personally thank you and welcome you to the bitcoin community.)
Bitcoin IRA Calculator
If you have an IRA, play around with tool. If need help understanding why you should add bitcoin to your retirement account, I recommend watching Michael Saylor’s BTC Prague presentation.
Bitcoin Withdrawal Rate Calculator
In traditional financial retirement planning there’s a golden rule called The Bengen Rule. You might know it as the “4% Withdrawal Rule”. This is the hypothetical withdrawal percentage a retiree could withdraw from their portfolio to avoid running out of money.
It’s important because inflation, losses, fees can erode a portfolio and no one wants to be destitute. Consider that the Fed’s 2% inflation target rate cuts your purchasing power in half in 35 years, 7% in 10 years, 14% in 5 years. That’s a lot of silent theft of your money. What to do?
Should be obvious but if not, try saving a portion in bitcoin and use this calculator to see how your purchasing power can actually increase in retirement. (Remember: inflation is the devaluation of money, bitcoin is the upgrade of money.)
Time for another walk and podcast. If you need one to listen to, here’s a great episode from the The “What is Money?” Show. Lots of takeaways from Robert Breedlove to ponder.
